This time the Te Akau domination of the Karaka Million came with a twist.
Because while racing fans are used to the all-conquering stable winning our only $1 million two-year-old race, they aren t used to it being under Central Districts jockey Jonathan Parkes.
Te Akau trainer Jamie Richards supplied the first four home in the Ellerslie dash for cash, with On The Bubbles remaining unbeaten after three starts even though he came from the outside barrier.

Those who love Toronto s heritage could only watch in horror as demolition began on four buildings, known as the Dominion Foundry, this week.
The four abandoned buildings at 153 to 185 Eastern Ave. in Corktown were once part of a thriving industrial enclave along the lower Don River.
The foundry site contains the largest concentration of heritage buildings to be preserved within the 80 acre West Don Lands precinct, according to the City of Toronto.
The building at 153 Eastern Ave. was the foundry building.

Tucked alongside promotional events on Costco s website for men s suits, mattresses and Vitamix blenders is MyPillow, the embattled pillow company.
Costco, in contrast to Bed, Bath and Beyond, Wayfair and other retailers that announced an eventual stoppage of MyPillow sales, shows no signs of ending its special events despite MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell s seeming support of President Donald Trump invoking martial law during the final days of his presidency.

NEW YORK (AP) The founder and CEO of MyPillow, who amplified President Donald Trump s claims of election fraud, said a backlash against his company has begun after a mob stormed the U.S. Capitol this month.
Mike Lindell, who appears in TV commercials hugging the company’s foam-filled pillows, said major retailers like Bed Bath & Beyond and Kohl’s have dropped his products recently.
Both companies confirmed the decision to cease carrying the brand Tuesday, but cited flagging sales rather than Lindell’s actions or his support for Trump.
